Boldt And Williams Earn Patriot League Weekl
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army junior goalkeeper Winston Boldt and freshman forward Nick Williams were each honored with Patriot League weekly awards for the week ending Sept. 1. Boldt was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Week for the fifth time in his career, while Williams was recognized as the Rookie of the Week for the first time.
Boldt made two saves during Army’s 3-0 season-opening win over Virginia Military Institute on Friday, Aug. 3. The shutout marked Boldt’s fifth career clean sheet.
Williams scored a pair of goals and cracked the starting lineup in his college debut against VMI. He netted the game-winning tally in the ninth minute before scoring his second goal of the match in the 30th minute.
Williams was also named the College Sports Madness Patriot League Player of the Week, and was recognized on TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Team of the Week honorable mention list for his efforts in Friday’s win.
The Black Knights return to action on Saturday, Sept. 7, when they hit the road for the first time this season to face service academy rival Air Force at 9 p.m. ET
