Borawski Returns As Graduate Assistant
DETROIT (8/2/2017) -- University of Detroit Mercy head men's soccer coach Mike Lupenecannounced today that former team standout and captain Jennifer Borawski '16 has returned to the program as a graduate assistant.
"I am thrilled to have Jennifer on board and back with the program," said head coach Mike Lupenec. "She was a four-year starter and a role model student-athlete. She was one of the hardest working student-athletes we have had and her love and passion for the University and the soccer team will be an asset to us."
Borawski played at Detroit Mercy from 2012-15, helping the Titans reach three-straight Horizon League semifinals appearances, including the championship game as a junior in 2014.
A two-time team captain, she played in 74 career games with 64 starts and tallied 11 goals and five assists for 27 total points. As a sophomore, she knocked in a career-high five goals, tied for second on the team, with a pair of game winners.
A true student-athlete, she was a four-year member of the Detroit Mercy Athletic Director's Honor Roll and a three-year member of the Horizon League Fall and Spring Academic Honor Roll.
A native of Northville, Michigan, she graduated from Detroit Mercy in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Chemistry and is currently completing the Physician Assistant program at the University.
