Bradley clips Bisons in overtime
NASHVILLE, Tenn: Playing in their second consecutive overtime match, the Lipscomb men’s soccer team fell 2-1 to Bradley at the Belmont Mafiaoza's Invitational on Friday at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville.
“Again, we dug ourselves a hole in the first half,” Lipscomb head coach Charles Morrow said. “We adjusted well at halftime and had the majority of the play in the second. As soon as we can put 90 minutes together, we can be a very good team.”
The Bisons (2-5-0, 0-0-0 ASUN), used overtime magic from senior Ethan Summers last Sunday and initially looked as if more was to come.
Bradley (3-1-2, 0-0-0 MVC) appeared on the scoreboard in the 20th minute as Wojciech Wojcik found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Summers mustered the Bisons back into the game with a 67th minute equalizing goal, his third goal in two games. Jeremy Reid connected the pass to Summers, his second assist in as many games.
Headed to overtime for the second straight game, the Bisons were unable to produce magic again. Bradley attempted the only shot of the extended period scoring the goal in the 92nd minute of play as Keegan Balle put a strike on the ball.
Freshman Miguel Hof stopped four shots while the Bisons attempted seven, placing five on frame. Kyle Erickson led the Bisons with two shots, both on goal.
The Bisons look to rebound as they continue play in the Belmont Mafiaoza's Invitational on Sunday with a 12:05 match against Central Connecticut State at E.S. Rose Park.
