Centenary Continues Dominance of Notre Dame
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary College women's soccer team scored six times during the first half and eased to a 7-0 victory over Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Cyclones are now 7-0 all-time against Notre Dame and have outscored the Gators 49-0 during those matches.
Junior Becky Camp (Belford, N.J./Middletown North) produced career highs with three goals and seven total points to lead Centenary. A total of five different Cyclones got into the scoring column during the match.
Sophomore Lorraine Dedrick (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) got CC on the board just two minutes into the first half and junior Samantha Sysak (Bayonne, N.J./Holy Family Academy) doubled the lead eight minutes later.
Camp scored two-straight goals, while sophomore Becky D'Angelo (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and junior Laura Potter (Gilboa, N.Y./Gilboa-Conesville) both added first-half scores as the Cyclones led 6-0 after 45 minutes. Camp's third goal capped the scoring late in the second half off a corner kick feed from Sysak.
Centenary outshot the Gators 15-6 and attempted all four of the match's corner kicks. Junior Megan Williams (Glenside, Pa./Abington) made three saves for her third shutout of the year.
The Cyclones travel to Cairn on Wednesday for a 4:00 pm game.
