Centenary Routs Keystone
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary College men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games with a convincing 4-0 triumph over Keystone on Wednesday night at Morrison Field.
The streak is the longest since 2011 for the Cyclones, who improved to 4-1 against Colonial States Athletic Conference competition this fall (7-5-2 overall).
Sophomore goalkeeper Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) recorded his third consecutive shutout, making five saves. Goleman, who was named ECAC and CSAC Player of the Week earlier in the week, has not allowed a goal during his last 284:44 in net.
Junior Quinn Khouri (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) netted a pair of goals, while junior Michael Marin (Union City, N.J./Union City) and sophomore Sean Robinson (Mount Olive, N.J./Mount Olive) also found the back of the net.
Marin fired home a shot from 30 yards out to give Centenary a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Khouri tacked on a second Cyclone score just over seven minutes later as he dribbled down the left side and sent a shot past Giants' net minder Dany O'Rourke. Robinson made it 3-0 just nine seconds before halftime when he headed in a feed from sophomore Glenn Brennan (Butler, Pa./Butler Area). Khouri also picked up an assist on the goal.
Khouri capped the goal scoring in the second half when he connected on a penalty kick. The score was his fourth via penalty kick this fall, setting a new Centenary single-season record.
O'Rourke made three saves for the Giants, who were outshot 19-7.
Centenary looks to continue its winning ways on Saturday when it visits Gwynedd Mercy for a 3:00 pm match.
