Cincinnati Blasts Eastern Kentucky, 9-0
Sept. 5, 2014
Goals were plentiful for the University of Cincinnati women's soccer team on Friday night at Gettler Stadium as they blasted Eastern Kentucky, 9-0. The Bearcats' freshmen led the way by scoring six of the team's nine goals.
Newcomer Jaycie Brown put UC on the board in the 16th minute with a strike from inside the box, and the Bearcats offense continued to pack it on as they added two more before the half.
Brown would add her second goal of the match in the 52nd minute, and her fellow classmates decided to follow suit with Vanessa Gilles and Julie Gavorski each recording a pair of goals.
UC tallied a total of six goals in the second half to make the final score 9-0. The Bearcats' goal total is the most in a single match since Oct. 9, 1993 when they defeated Robert Morris, 13-0.
