Cobras strike early at Patriots in Coker win
HARTSVILLE, SC - Eric Stiefield scored three times in the opening 22 minutes, including twice in the first eight minutes, as Coker College defeated Francis Marion University 6-0, Saturday evening (Sept. 10) in non-conference men's soccer action.
Francis Marion remains winless at 0-4-0 and the Patriots will look for their first win on Tuesday afternoon when they host Mount Olive College at 4 p.m. Coker improves to 2-1-0.
The Cobras outshot FMU 18-5 and led 4-3 in corner kicks.
FMU freshman goalkeeper Nick Lucido registered four saves, while Coker's James Sweeney (72:10) and Mark Nankervis (17:50) combined for the shutout.
