Colgate Shuts Down Saints
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Abdel Sanogo and Aram Ouligian each scored second half goals as defending Patriot League Regular Season Champion Colgate shut out Siena Soccer 2-0 at Siena Turf Field. Junior goalkeeper Aleksa Radosavljevic made six saves for the Saints.
The teams battled to a scoreless stalemate over the first 58 minutes, before Colgate (4-1) broke through. Chase Pagani sent in a cross from the left that found Sanogo who turned, fired and scored for what proved to be the decisive goal.
The Raiders added an insurance tally 20 minutes later when Ouligian finished a corner kick from Jared Stroud. Colgate held a 12-4 edge in shots – including an 8-0 advantage in shots on target – and an 8-5 margin in corners.
Senior striker Junior Rosero tallied a team-high two shots for Siena (1-3-1) which remained winless in 15 all-time meetings against the Raiders.
The Saints will look to bounce back when they return to action Tuesday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Army West Point.
