Princeton, N.J. – The Columbia women's soccer team and No. 11 Princeton both entered Saturday's match undefeated in Ivy League play on Oct 14. That changed tonight as the Lions defeated the Tigers 2-0 on Roberts Stadium to grab sole possession of first place in the Ivy League.

Columbia grabbed its first victory on the road at Princeton since 1995 to push their win streak to five straight in shutout fashion.

Natalie Neshat put Columbia on the board in the ninth minute by finishing the attack with a score on a rebounded shot from Amaris Hemmings. The goal marks Neshat's ninth goal of the season to lead the Lions. 

Just under two minutes later, it was Hemmings again on the initial shot, which hit off the Princeton goalkeeper, right to the foot of Emily Koe who was able to send it home. 

The defense pitched its sixth overall shutout of the year behind goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse who tallied eight saves. 

Up next, Columbia (8-4-1, 4-0 Ivy) heads to Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 3:30 p.m. match against the Big Green.
