MOREHEAD, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2014) – Senior forward Kasey Curtis found the back of the net in the 57^th minute, but the University of Wyoming women’s soccer team fell at Morehead State 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Jayne Stadium. Curtis has a team high-three goals this season.

“I thought we played with a lot of energy in the second half and aggressive,” UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. “It was tough to lose the game on a penalty kick.”

In a tightly-contested match, the Eagles earned slight 8-7 advantage in shots, 3-2 shots on goal and 4-3 in corner kicks. Curtis and sophomore forward Laurel Ramer each had two shots, while senior forward Hayley Charlton had UW’s other shot on goal.

The Eagles scored at the 41^st minute for a 1-0 lead at half time and added a second goal in the 47^th minute on a penalty kick. The Cowgirls got on the scoreboard in the 58^th minute, as Curtis teamed with senior defender Alison Clarke for the goal.

Wyoming concludes its six-game road series at Northern Colorado on Friday at 7 p.m. MT.
