Cowgirls Finish in Scoreless Tie at Northern
The University of Wyoming women's soccer team battled Northern Colorado to a double-overtime scoreless draw on Friday evening at Jackson Stadium. The Cowgirls dominated the statistical battle, notching a season-high 16 shots and their second shutout of the season, but could not find the back of the net in a game that was delayed an hour due to weather.
Wyoming (2-5-1) racked up a 16-10 advantage in shots, including 10-3 in the first half, with a pressing offense and finished ahead 10-5 in shots on goal. Freshman forward Candace Sciberras paced UW's offensive attack with three shots, all of which went on goal, while freshman forward Tristan Tyrrell added three shots as well, including two on goal.Defensively, freshman goal keeper Georgia Rowntree had four saves in 45 minutes, while senior goal keeper Alex Boehm with two saves in 65 minutes for a combined shutout.
