Cowgirls release Spring schedule

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State will play 10 exhibition matches during the spring of 2011, it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Colin Carmichael.
The Cowgirls open the spring slate Feb. 19 in Houston, where they’ll face LSU and Rice. OSU will also have neutral site matches against Ole Miss and Memphis (in Little Rock, Ark.) and vs. Tulsa and Oral Roberts (in Norman, Okla.).
OSU will play four home games at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. The Cowgirls will face Arkansas and North Texas on Feb. 26 and will close the spring on April 9 with matches against SMU and Central Oklahoma.
The Cowgirls are coming off the best season in program history as they finished 20-4-2 and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship. OSU also captured its third consecutive Big 12 Conference championship, winning the conference tourney title.
OSU will return 10 starters in 2011, including All-Americans AD Franch and Melinda Mercado and All-Big 12 performers Krista Lopez, Kyndall Treadwell and Carson Michalowski.
