Cyclones Hand Cabrini First League Loss
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Centenary College delivered Cabrini its first Colonial States Athletic Conference loss of the season as it earned a 1-0 home men's soccer victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Cyclones upped their league record to 3-1 (6-5-2 overall), pulling even with the Cavaliers in the league standings. CC also ended Cabrini's six-match overall winning streak and a seven-game, regular-season CSAC unbeaten streak that dated back to last season.
Sophomore Nick DePasquale (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) delivered the match's lone goal during the 50th minute. He redirected a crossing pass from junior Quinn Khouri (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) into the back of the net for his first career game-winning goal.
Cabrini had an opportunity to knot the game minutes later, but a shot from in front of the cage by C.J. Bishop rang off the cross bar.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) produced his second-straight shutout by stopping two shots. Goleman has not allowed a goal during his last 194:44 in net.
Eric Nowicki made four saves for the Cavaliers, while Brett Lockbaum recorded two shots on goal.
Centenary hosts Keystone on Wednesday night beginning at 7:30 pm.
