Dayton defeats Fordham 2-1

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men’s soccer team held on to an early lead to take a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fordham Wednesday.
The Flyers (4-5-2, 1-0-1 A-10) remained unbeaten in conference play while the Rams (3-4-3, 0-1-1 A-10) are still looking for their first win.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
- 1st Minute – Sophomore Kennedy Nwabia put Dayton ahead early with a header off the corner by freshman Rok Taneski.
- 69th Minute – Nwabia finished off the brace with a rebound off a breakaway attempt by senior Michael Frasca that fell to Nwabia for goal No. 2.
- 80th Minute – Fordham got a consolation goal late in the game by Janos Loebe.
KEY STATS
- The Flyers out-shot the Rams 15-13 with both teams putting five on target.
- There were six cards issued in the game, all in the first half. It included a red card to the Fordham bench.
- Nwabia led the Flyers with five shots, three on goal, while Taneski totaled four shots.
