SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team scored I the 75th minute to take a 1-0 victory over the University of Detroit Sunday in the final game of the Missouri State Tournament. The win gave the Flyers their second tournament title of the season.

Going into Sunday, the Flyers were riding a four-game winning streak and were out-scoring opponents 13-4. Dayton hoped to take an early lead over the Titans in order to give itself an opportunity to win the Missouri State Tournament title.

Both teams struggled to get things going offensively as Dayton and Detroit kept their defensive lines behind the offensive attacks.

Neither team was able to make a dent in the score in the first 45 minutes of play. Head coach Dennis Currier and the Flyer coaching staff went into the locker room looking to make some adjustments offensively.

Dayton was finally able to break the scoreless stretch in the 75th minute when freshman James Haupt scored off an assist by junior Greg Enstone to put the Flyers up 1-0.
That goal would be all Dayton would need to take a 1-0 victory and remain undefeated on the year. The Flyers added to their goal total after entering the weekend with the No. 1 offense in the nation.

The MSU Tournament Championship comes just one week after winning the Dayton Flyer Classic at Baujan Field.

The Flyers (5-0-0) will stay on the road for their next contest when they travel to Ohio State next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
