DAYTON FALLS AT MARQUETTE, 3-2
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The University of Dayton men’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at Marquette on Monday night.
Dayton is now 2-2-0 on the season while Marquette is 2-1-1.
KEY STATS
At halftime, Dayton had six shots compared to Marquette’s four, but did not put any on target.
The Flyers led the Golden Eagles in total shot attempts, 15-9.
Dayton was called for 18 fouls in the contest while Marquette was called for just five.
Junior goalkeeper Justin Saliba recorded two saves in the game.
Senior Maik Schoonderwoerd led the team with six shots, three of which were on goal.
DAYTON GOALS
58th Minute – Senior Maik Schoonderwoerd (2nd of season) collected the ball with his back to the goal six-yards out and turned to slide a shot to the far post for the game-tying goal. (Dayton 1, Marquette 1)
77th Minute – Junior Tommy Harr (1st of season) took possession and dribbled around the goalkeeper before slotting it home to the far post. (Dayton 2, Marquette 3)

37th Minute – A penalty kick was awarded to Marquette and senior Kelmend Islami converted. (Dayton 0, Marquette 1)
67th Minute – Freshman Jesper Larsson headed home a delivery from Louis Bennett II to the back post. (Dayton 1, Marquette 2)
68th Minute – Senior David Selvaggi scores on the assist by Kelmend Islami after receiving the pass in the box and turning to shoot in upper corner. (Dayton 1, Marquette 3)
