Diving header by Hawks nips Patriots 1-0
FLORENCE, SC – A diving header by senior Ben Chapman in the 49th minute carried Chowan University to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Francis Marion University, Wednesday night (Oct. 18) in men’s soccer action.
FMU (6-7-0) will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday when the Patriots entertain Georgia Southwestern State University at 7:30 p.m.
After a scoreless first half, Chowan’s Denis Roule sent a low cross in from the right side of the box and Chapman dove toward the Patriot goal heading the ball in from three yards out at the 48:34 mark.
