Donovan receives league honor...
Senior goalkeeper Kat Donovan was named The Summit League's Defensive Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her play this past weekend...
Donovan helped the Jackrabbits record two shutouts over Oral Roberts on Friday, Sept. 30, and Southern Utah on Sunday, Oct. 2. SDSU won both games 2-0.
Donovan made one save against ORU in a one-on-one situation near the end of the first half. The save preserved the halftime lead for the Jacks and kept the momentum in SDSU's favor.
Against SUU, Donovan was forced to save every shot the Thunderbirds took, as all four were on goal.
"Kat came up big in the ORU game and was solid the whole weekend," head coach Lang Wedemeyer said. "It is nice that she was recognized for her consistent play."
The two shutouts this weekend give Donovan five for the season and her career, which ties her for fifth on the SDSU all-time shutouts leaderboard.
The five saves and zero goals allowed give Donovan 43 saves on the year and a .754 save percentage.
Donovan holds the same record as the Jacks at 6-5-1 (2-0-0 conf.).
