Elliott named to Academic All-League Team
Complete Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's soccer senior Paige Elliott has been named to the All-Patriot League Team for a second straight season, as announced by the league on Wednesday. Elliott owns an impressive 3.98 cumulative GPA as a Chemical Engineering major, while continuing to serve as a strong player, and team captain, on the field.
Recently, Elliott was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for a second straight season. The Soddy Daisy, Tennessee native has tallied a perfect 4.0 GPA in all but two semesters, owning just two A-'s over her entire academic career. A three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Elliott has been a two-time winner of the team's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She has garnered the Faculty Athletics Council Award every semester and has made the Dean's List every term as well.
Elliott's success hasn't been limited to the classroom. After garnering first team All-League laurels as a freshman, she has continued to make a difference on the Mountain Hawks' back line. This season, she played in all 18 games, with 16 starts, while dishing an assist. She was a key member of a Mountain Hawks' defense which tallied six shutouts in 2015, including shutouts of Patriot League opponents Holy Cross, Colgate and Lafayette. Lehigh only allowed 34 combined shots and 14 total shots on goal over those three games, due in large part to the play of Elliott and the defense. Elliott finished her career with 11 points behind three goals and five assists.
Lehigh enjoyed several highlights in 2015, which included a 3-1 record against Philadelphia area schools - beating Temple, Saint Joseph's and Penn while dropping a slim final to La Salle. The Mountain Hawks also tied MAAC Regular Season Champion Monmouth, who finished the regular season with a 13-2-2 overall record, while earning Patriot League victories over Loyola and archrival Lafayette.
