Falcons heat up late as calendar turns

LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Notre Dame began October on a high note Saturday at Korb Field, defeating the Lady Lions of Lindenwood (Mo.) 1-0. The win improved NDC''s record to 6-2-0, while Lindenwood fell to 4-3-2. (Box)
The contest began with both teams'' offenses struggling to move the ball. NDC made little noise in the first-half, but began creating opportunities for themselves throughout the second-half. Senior captain Katie Christensen scored the eventual game-winner -- her second of the year -- in the 84th minute. Lauren Acker assisted on the goal, while sophomore keeper Kristy Kolschetzky recorded her tenth career shutout, making five saves.
