FGCU's Fritz Named ASUN Player of the Week
LAKEPOINT, Ga. – Following a two-goal weekend, FGCU's Holly Fritz was named the ASUN Conference's Player of the Weeks, the conference office announced Tuesday.

First on the docket was MAC Champion and MAC East preseason favorite, Kent State. Lightning delayed the Friday night home debut for the Green and Blue but the Eagles struck first in the first half before Fritz set up FGCU's second goal.
The Eagles were awarded a free kick in the 83rd minute just inside the Kent State half of the field. Fritz's service into the box found the head of Lauren Greene (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins HS), who redirected it past the goalkeeper to seal the 2-0 victory.
Fritz's play in the weekend finale opposite Liberty sparked the Eagles to their fourth-straight win. Leading 1-0, Fritz made a diagonal run into the box beating the goalkeeper to the ball and heading home her first career goal.
The two-time Big South Champions mounted a comeback, tying the match in the 77th minute only for Fritz to volley home the winner in the 80th minute.
