KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Dayton women's soccer shutout streak stayed alive with a 4-0 win over Rhode Island Sunday at the URI Soccer Complex and in the process broke the program record for consecutive shutouts.

The Flyers, who improve to 9-4-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the Atlantic 10, have posted six consecutive shutouts, outscoring opponents 17-0 in those matches. 

Freshman Meghan Blank scored first for the Flyers in he 21st minute on an assist from sophomore Nicole Waters, who had a solid day with a goal and two assists.

Senior Stephanie Emery scored the first of her two goals in this match less seven minutes later in the 28th minute on an assist from senior Juliana Libertin, who had three helpers on the day.

Emery scored again in the 56th minute on assists from Libertin and Waters. Waters scored the final tally in the 73rd minute on an assist from Libertin.

Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth James had seven savss in the match en route to her seventh shutout this season.

The Flyers host Saint Louis next Saturday, Oct. 19 for Senior Night at 7 p.m. All five UD seniors will be honored prior to the match.
