Forrest, Tuvesson Earn All-Region Selections
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer's dynamic offensive tandem of Mark Forrest and Doyle Tuvesson received further recognition for their outstanding 2017 campaigns as both earned All-Northeast Region selections as announced by the United Soccer Coaches late Friday evening.
Forrest, the Patriot League and ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, added another notch to his accolade belt as he was named a First Team All-Northeast Region selection. The junior's 15 goals and 38 points ranked first in the entire Northeast Region this past season.
Tuvesson earned a Third Team All-Region spot, closing out a stellar senior campaign and career with the Brown and White. The senior forward's 10 assists set a career-high this past season and was the second-highest total in the region, behind Jared Stroud (13) of Colgate.
Forrest was one of five Patriot League representatives on the All-Northeast Region First Team, joined by fellow Patriot League major award winners Zac McGraw (Defensive Player of the Year) of Army West Point and Chase Vosvick (Goalkeeper/Rookie of the Year) of Loyola. In total, 14 Patriot League student-athletes made up the majority of the 33 selected to the three All-Northeast Region teams. The MAAC had 11 total selections, while the NEC garnered eight.
Both Forrest and Tuvesson are repeat selections to the All-Region teams as Tuvesson earned a Third Team selection in 2014 and Forrest earned a spot on the Third Team in 2015. Lehigh has 55 total All-Region selections dating back in 1986, including 42 in the Dean Koski era.
