KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Fort Lewis College women’s soccer team (15-3-4 overall, 10-2-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) was ranked 11th in the final NCAA Division II poll of the season, released Tuesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Continental Tire.

The Skyhawks were ranked in the Top 25 throughout the year, with the exception of the season’s final week when they dropped out of the rankings.

Two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams were ranked in the final poll: No. 5 Colorado Mines (17-2-4, 10-2-2) and No. 11 Fort Lewis. RMAC regular season champion Regis (15-6-0, 11-3-0) also received votes.

Fort Lewis advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row, losing to Mines 1-0 in the Central Region championship game on Nov. 18. The Orediggers knocked FLC out in the semifinals of the RMAC tournament in a penalty kick shootout that followed a 1-1 draw through two overtimes on Nov. 4. Fort Lewis finished second in the RMAC regular season title chase, losing to Regis 1-0 on the season’s final day.
