WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 21 Dayton shut out George Washington 3-0 Friday night at Mount Vernon Field. The Flyers improved to 12-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Atlantic 10 action, while the Colonials fell to 4-9-2, 1-2-2 A-10.

Freshman Kelsey Smigel scored two goals, including the game-winner, and had an assist in the Atlantic 10 match.

Junior Colleen Williams added a goal and a game-winning assist. She became Dayton’s all-time career leader with 29 assists. She has 9 goals and 8 assists this season.

Junior Katherine Boone posted her third shutout of the season and 19^th of her career, third-all-time at Dayton.

Smigel started the scoring in the 10^th minute off assists from sophomore Sarah Senoyuit and Williams. Smigel returned the favor early in the second half, dishing to Williams for a goal in the 53^rd minute. Smigel gave the Flyers a 3-0 lead in the 89^th minute after finishing a pass from junior Alexis Garcia.

Dayton plays at Richmond this Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. ET.
