Gap closing between U20s and MNT?
Has the open dialogue between the coaches of the national team system closed the gap between the U20s and the Men’s National Team?
Jurgen Klinsmann appears to believe so based on some comments he made after announcing the roster for upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Germany.
“We want to watch the U20s play in Turkey for the FIFA U20 World Cup,” Klinsmann told reporters on Thursday. “We have some players there on the list that we want to introduce to the senior National Team program one step at a time, so we work on all fronts.”
The head coach of the Men’s National Team taking note of a youth national team squad, especially in the buildup to a World Cup, is nothing new, but Klinsmann has been actively involved in some personnel decisions with the youth team.
U20 MNT head coach Tab Ramos has carried on an open dialogue with Klinsmann over the past year, as Ramos has built his player pool and qualified for the World Cup, which kicks off in Turkey in June.
So who could be the player’s on the radar for Klinsmann?
