Georgetown goalkeeper joins LAFC
Georgetown goalkeeper Tomas Romero has signed a professional contract with LAFC, the franchise announced this week.
Romero played the fall of 2019 with the Hoyas, winning the 2019 national championship. LAFC acquired Romero's Homegrown rights from the Philadelphia Union before completing the signing.

“Tomas is an exciting prospect with experience at the youth, collegiate and international levels,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said in a press release. “He will be a strong addition to our goalkeeping group, and we look forward to seeing him develop further here at LAFC.”
Before heading to the Hoyas, Romero played in 17 games for the Bethlehem Steel from 2017-19 in the USL Championship. In his lone season with Georgetown, he made 12 appearances, recording seven shutouts and helping win the penalty kick shootout in the 2019 national championship.
