WATERBURY, CT-A Kaitlyn Hartkopf goal off a freekick from 23 yards out in the 43rd minute (42:50) gave the Georgian Court University women's soccer squad a 1-0 lead, a score that would stand strong as the Lions held on for a key opening day, CACC victory at Post University Friday afternoon.

The tally was the second of Hartkopf's collegiate career and first since 10/22/11 in a 3-0 victory over  Felician College. GCU outshot the host Eagles, 8-4, and dominated in corner kicks, 7-1.

Georgian Court netminder Casey O'Connor (1-0) pitched a shutout in her GCU debut as the freshman did not see a single shot on net from Post (0-1, 0-1 CACC).
