GSU No. 27 in RPI Rankings
ATLANTA--The Georgia State men's soccer team earned its highest ranking in recent memory at No. 27 in the latest NCAA Men's Soccer RPI rankings released on Tuesday.
Georgia State enters the week with a record of 10-3-1, 4-2 in the CAA. The 10 wins are the most for the program since 2000.
The Panthers are one of six Colonial Athletic Association teams ranked in the top 50 in the rankings of the 203 Division I men's soccer teams. Old Dominion (10), James Madison (17) and William & Mary (20) are the only teams ahead of GSU.
Head coach Brett Surrency's squad is fourth in the CAA standings heading into one of its toughest weeks of the season. The Panthers have 12 points and trail Old Dominion, James Madison and William & Mary who are tied for first place at 15 points apiece.
Georgia State travels to face Old Dominion on Wednesday (7 p.m.) before it hosts James Madison on Sunday (2 p.m.) at Panthersville. The Panthers beat William & Mary 1-0 earlier this season.
