WORCESTER, Mass. – The rain and slippery conditions were not in favor of the Holy Cross men’s soccer team as the squad lost 1-0 loss against Sacred Heart in non-conference action at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. With the decision, Holy Cross moves to a record of 0-2-1, while the Pioneers improve to a record of 2-1-0. Sacred Heart scored the first goal of the game at the 12:54 mark on the second shot taken from a corner kick set-up. Holy Cross picked up the offensive pressure towards the end of the half as sophomore Kevin O’Connell (Basking Ridge, N.J.) put two shots on-goal. The Crusaders did not score, however, and went into the half down 1-0.
