Box Score Alabama State defeated Arkansas Pine-Bluff 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Lions Field in Pine-Bluff, Arkansas.

"We played a hard fought game today," said head coach Jodie Smith. "Its good that we have this momentum going into our last conference match and the conference tournament."

The Lady Hornets scored first when Ariela Lewis earned her 9^th assist when she found Alexandria Cannon for a goal in the 26th minute. Then in the 30th minute Anastasia McCleary found the back of the net off a deflection from a Pine-Bluff defender. Alexandria Cannon recorded her 4^th assist when she returned the favor to Ariela Lewis when Cannon found Lewis for a goal in the 53rd minute.

Alabama State out shot Pine Bluff 17-11. Goalkeeper Kylee Hathaway recorded the win with three saves, giving her 100 saves this season.

The Lady Hornets will return to action on Friday as they travel to Huntsville to face against Alabama A&M at 2 p.m.
