Jesus Sahagun's Goal Lifts BC to Victory
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team improved to 4-0-0 with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Holy Cross (0-3-0) on Tuesday night at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium in a non-conference match.
BC's record of 4-0-0 marks the first unbeaten start for the program through four games since the Eagles started 2014 season 3-0-1.
The Eagles opened the scoring, with freshman Mike Suski finding the back of the net in the 16th minute.
Holy Cross Max Krause tied the game in the 56th minute on a one-timer from 24 yards out which sailed just under the crossbar.
Freshman midfielder Amos Shapiro-Thompson, who had two shots on goal in the match, stunned the Crusader crowd with a goal in the 60th minute. Shapiro-Thompson placed a ball just under the crossbar after crossing up a Holy Cross defender with his footwork.
BC's lead did not last long as Holy Cross tied the match, 2-2, when Krause scored off a set piece in the 74th minute.
Sophomore Jesus Sahagun tallied the game-winner for the Eagles in the 83rd minute on a volley over the Crusader goalkeeper from just outside the box.
