Klosterhalfen earns season 1st CUSA Off. POW
IRVING, Texas – Following an impressive 3-1 win in the season opener against UNLV, sophomore Niko Klosterhalfenreceived the first weekly Conference USA laurels, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Klosterhalfen, a sophomore from Koenigswinter, Germany, earned Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors, the first of his career, for his performance against UNLV on Friday, August 26. He scored two of the three goals for the Monarchs in the season home opener against the Rebels of UNLV on five shots. He recorded seven total shots on the weekend, including two of 26 against Stetson on Sunday, August 28.
He is the first to receive the C-USA offensive player honors of the 2016 season. This comes following his impressive freshman season, during which he earned the 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year title.

The Monarchs (1-0-1, 0-0-0 C-USA) return to action this weekend, as they host the Loyola Greyhounds (0-1-0, 0-0-0 Patriot) of Maryland, Friday night Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
