Lady Scots Suffer 4-0 Defeat on Road
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Kent. -- The Lady Scots had a difficult night on Saturday, losing to Campbellsville University 4-0. Covenant’s attack was sluggish and the defense had some weak spots which allowed the Lady Tigers several early opportunities to score.
Campbellsville came out in the first half with a strong offense, scoring their first goal only 4 minutes into the contest. In the 11th minute, Jessica Ralph assisted Cassie Yanneli goal to make it 2-0. Eight minutes later, Yanneli returned the favor, assisting Ralph for the third goal of the game. Finally, Megan Campbell wrapped up the attack for Campbellsville, scoring only 21 minutes into the game, setting the score 4-0.
Covenant managed to keep up with Campbellsville in the number of attempts on goal with 11 to their 14. Hannah Bales saved 6 goals to keep the score to only 4.
Covenant’s next game is on Monday at Birmingham Southern College at 8:00 p.m. The ladies record is now 1-4-1.
