BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Abdu Regassa found the equalizer in the 64^th minute before a late penalty kick sent Memphis past the Milwaukee men's soccer team by a final score of 2-1 Friday evening at BBVA Field.
 
The Panthers (2-1) overcome a tough first half against the Tigers (2-1), turning the contest around in the second half on the scoresheet before finding the tying goal at the 63:47 mark.
 
Regassa created the goal by himself, fighting off a defender before lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net for the first score of his collegiate career.
 
Milwaukee doubled-up the Tigers in shot attempts after halftime, yet came up empty and suffered their first loss of the season when they converted the PK in the 72^nd minute.
 
The Panthers pushed forward late, but opportunities from Matthew Cahill in the 81^st minute and Vuk Latinovich in the 87^th did not find the net.
 
Memphis ended the contest with advantage of 8-to-4 in shots and 7-to-2 in corner kicks. Freddy Lorenzen did make a pair of saves.
 
Milwaukee closes out the weekend in the UAB "Soccer For a Cure Classic" Sunday, taking on the host Blazers at noon.
