BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer opens its season, and the 2014-15 Lehigh Athletics schedule, when it hosts Binghamton on Sunday afternoon. Opening kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Mountain Hawks finished 2013 just outside of the playoff field (seventh place) and look to return to the Patriot League Tournament for the third time in five years.

A senior-lead Lehigh squad features five seniors who've all enjoyed tremendous success in the brown and white: Ashley Blanks, Darby Dustman, Jordan Goodwin, Danielle Salans and Darby Wiegand. Salans led the Mountain Hawks in scoring last season with nine points behind four goals and one assist. Goodwin is an anchor of the Lehigh defense, the Darbys combined for three goals and one assist in 2013 while Blanks posted a 1.01 GAA, fifth-best in school history.
In total, 13 of the 14 players who scored a point last season all return. The Mountain Hawks were extremely competitive in their league games, beating Loyola, Army and Holy Cross by one goal while dropping four one-goal games and a two-goal final. Lehigh also welcomes seven talented freshmen onto the roster with several expected to make an immediate impact.
Binghamton opens its season on Friday night (Aug. 22) against Temple. The Bearcats finished 2013 with an 8-8-2 overall record and 3-4-1 mark in the America East. Binghamton's top four scorers all return, led by Stephani Church who had 11 points (five goals, one assist). Rebecca Raber posted nine (three goals, three assists), Michele Galvin recorded seven (three goals, one assist), as did Katie Corcoran (two goals, three assists). The team's primary starting goalie graduated, but Gaby Gold returns after playing more than 700 minutes herself. She finished with a 1.00 GAA and .800 save percentage in 2013.
