BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women’s soccer placed 17 student-athletes on the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll, which was announced on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks earned success on and off the field in 2011, earning wins over Patriot League Champion Army and finalist Navy. They also sustained excellence in the classroom, led by senior Jana Basubas who was named Academic All-Patriot League while being named a Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award candidate.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport’s competition.
Freshman Engineering major Darby Dustman led the honorees with a 3.93 GPA. Fellow freshman Sophie Mayeux was next up with a 3.92 GPA. Also posting GPAs of at least 3.80 were freshmen Sarah Motta (3.86) and Danielle Salans (3.84), along with senior Megan Cain (3.82).

Basubas was on the list as well, compiling a 3.57 GPA. She has earned numerous academic awards, including being named one of 30 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award candidates while earning a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Lehigh wrapped up its season with a 6-9-2 record, 2-3-1 in Patriot League play after its game at Holy Cross was called 30 minutes in due to snow. The Mountain Hawks lose six seniors, but return 20 underclassmen next season, including the current freshman class of nine which saw significant collegiate action.
