Freshman Amanda Spencer/Gibsonia, Pennsylvania had the first scoring opportunity in the 65th minute, and junior Taylor Cave/Virginia Beach had a chance in the final minute for the visitors.
“We lost 1-0 on the road to a strong CAA team and the difference in the game was a PK,” said 20th-year head coach Todd Dyer ‘93. “I love the way our schedule challenges us this year and it will serve us well as we get into our conference schedule. We are getting stronger and its only a matter of time before everything comes together for this group.”
Drexel had a 12-7 advantage in shots, including 6-3 in attempts on goal, though Longwood had a 4-2 edge on corner kicks. In addition to Spencer and Cave, freshman Jayden Metzger/Midlothian also had a shot on goal for the Lancers. Hall played the duration in front of the net, making four of her five saves during the first 45 minutes.
