WASHINGTON, D.C.---Junior midfielder Adam Maabdi's unassisted goal off a free kick in the 87^th minute was the game-winner for the St. Francis College men's soccer team as they left the Nation's Capital with a 2-1 victory against the Howard University Bison on Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium.

With the win, the Terriers now stand at 2-2-1 while the Bison falter to 1-3-1.

The Terriers got on the board first after Maabdi was able to find teammate Gabriel Bagot. The native of Nevers, France was able to take it the length of the field and beat Howard's Eric Hamilton to give St. Francis a 1-0 advantage. 

For Bagot, it was his second ta tally the 2011 campaign and sixth career collegiate goal.  For Maabdi, it is his first assist of 2011 and seventh for his career. 

The Bison had a chance in the 32^nd minute when Howard's Christopher Ingram shot the ball on goal but junior goalkeeper Tyler Clarhaut was able to make a brilliant stop.

As the stanza was drawing to an end, Howard's Gary Clark played the ball and placed a timely header but Clarhaut was able to deny him, diving to his right to stop the ball, preserving the 1-0 lead heading into the locker room. 

The Bison was able to tie the match at one apiece in the 66^th minute as Howard's Rahman Alarape converted on a long kick with the ball trickling to the bottom right of the net. 

The Terriers played the final four minutes with a man advantage after the Bison's Christopher Sutherland was sent off after receiving a red card.

In the 87^th minute, Maabdi took the free kick for the Terriers from about thirty yards away.  The ball bended on goal towards the direction of St. Francis' Ben Graver but the ball found its way to the bottom right corner of the net to give the visitor's a 2-1 lead and the eventual game-winner.

The Terriers have now recorded at least a goal in three consecutive matches and out-shot their opponents for the second straight game.  St. Francis took 10 shots to Howard's six.

The Terriers will next be in action on Friday, September 16^th as they travel up to Riverdale, New York to square off against the Manhattan College Jaspers.  Kick-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
