Marist Loses MAAC Match At Manhattan
POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's soccer team fell to Manhattan, 3-1, on Oct. 24 to drop down to 4-3-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Junior Zachary Reed put the Red Foxes on the scoreboard with two minutes remaining in the contest for the lone Marist goal.
The Red Foxes had blocked a Manhattan shot before the duo of Dahrius Waldron and Alex Shackley connected for their first of two assists and goals, respectively, in the first half. Shackley banked one off the crossbar to break a scoreless tie in the 18th minute, then headed in a pass from five yards out for the second goal of the contest in the 41st minute.
Freshman Cameron Harr fired a team-high three shots for Marist, which finished with a total of 11. Sophomore Axel Ender picked up his first assist of the season on Reed's goal. Marist drew six corner kicks as well.
The Red Foxes will travel to Niagara for the penultimate match of the 2015 regular season. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
