Maybin Earns Second Player of Week Nod
Colorado Springs, Colorado: The newly labeled all-time leading goal and point scorer in Regis University men’s soccer history was recognized by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this week earning his second Offensive Player of the Week award. Martin Maybin’s consistent offensive performances in the Rangers most recent wins have caught the attention of the conference.
In the RU 3-2 double-overtime win over Colorado Christian, he scored two goals including the game-winner in the 107th minute to surpass the old mark of 45 goals scored in a career; he began the game with 44. He now currently holds the record at 49 with more games to go this season.
His hat trick in the 3-2 win over UC-Colorado Springs moved him atop the most points scored list with 122 points, surpassing the old mark of 118. He currently has scored 12 goals in nine games and assisted on two goals for a RMAC-leading mark of 26 total points. He also leads the conference in goals scored (12), goals per game (1.33), and game-winning goals (5).
