ATLANTA—The Georgia State men’s soccer team looks forward to its regular-season opener in less than a week after it wrapped up its preseason with a 1-0 victory against Southern Poly Saturday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.

Senior Alex Vivanco’s goal in the 29th minute was the eventual game winner as redshirt sophomore CJ Cochran and freshman Tyler Prince combined for the clean sheet. Vivanco collected a bouncing ball on the left side from just less than 30 yards out and uncorked a rocket, right-footed shot that clipped the crossbar and fell into the net.

Cochran and Prince were reliable when called upon.
