Men's Team of the Week: November 18
The Player of the Week goes to a forward who upped his performance in the biggest games as Daniel Ittycheria led the Princeton Tigers to their first Ivy League tournament trophy.
MORE: Men's Division l Scoreboard
The first example of Ittycheria’s clutch qualities came in the Ivy League semi-final as lower-seeded Princeton went down 2-0 18 minutes into the match versus a Cornell team ranked sixth in the country. Ittycheria struck back on a header for 2-1, then delivered another for the golden goal winner with 7 minutes remaining in the second overtime. Following that was a trip to hostile territory as nationally ranked No. 4 Penn hosted the Ivy League final. In a dominating performance, Princeton ran out 3-1 winners, with Ittycheria scoring the third on a well-placed finish from outside the 18. Thanks to the junior forward, the Tigers will compete in the NCAA tournament after two seasons of disappointment.
