A flawless hat trick followed by the game-winner in a rematch of the College Cup final earned Matthew Roou of Notre Dame the Player of the Week title.
MORE: Men's Division l Scoreboard
The week began with the Wisconsin native recording a hat trick for the second straight game as the Irish took down Detroit Mercy 3-1. Then came one of the most anticipated games of the college soccer season as No. 17 Notre Dame looked to avenge its loss from last season’s national final. And when the match looked destined for a draw, Roou broke through the Clemson backline, delivering a deflected game-winner in the 86th minute. The junior striker is peaking at the right time, with seven goals in his last three matches.
