Denver entered the last day of the regular season needing at least a draw to feel confident in winning the Summit League trophy. Facing St. Thomas (Minn.) and down 1-0 with less than five minutes left, New Zealand native Keegan Kelly scored his first goal of the season to equalize, earning the Pioneers a share of the conference trophy. Next came the conference semifinal, where, with the game tied 1-1 at halftime, the sophomore bagged a perfect hat trick, sending the team past Oral Roberts with a 4-1 win.
