Minnesota Duluth charts 2-0 Shutout Over St. Cloud State

Duluth, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University soccer team (4-6-0, 2-4-0 NSIC) lost its second consecutive match of the weekend with a 2-0 setback at Minnesota Duluth (4-4-1, 4-2-0 NSIC) in Duluth, Minn. on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Minnesota Duluth charted the game winner at 22:44 with a goal by Maureen Stormont. She was assisted on the play by Jennifer Smith and Dani Potter. The Bulldogs iced the game with the second goal of the day at 39:57. Courtney Driscoll posted the goal for UMD with the solo assist going to Kelli Klun.
In the game, UMD outshot the Huskies 21-4 as SCSU goalie Kenzie Hanzlik had eight saves in the game. THe shutout was credited to UMD goalie Hanna Iaizzo with three saves.
SCSU will continue the season on Oct. 8 with a Noon game at Winona State and on Oct. 9 with a 1 p.m. games at Upper Iowa.
