SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Missouri State men’s soccer team has again joined forces with the MSU Entertainment Management program to stage the Fourth Annual Living Our Legacy game. This year, the marquee game is set for Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. when the Bears host MVC opponent Drake in their regular-season finale at Plaster Field.

The 2012 Living Our Legacy game, presented by Great Southern Bank, is a joint venture between the MSU athletics department, the MSU Entertainment Management Program and an MSU student organization created to promote the annual event. This year, the Living Our Legacy game is partnering with Pastime for Patriots (PFP), a foundation created by former MSU and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brad Ziegler.

In three previous Living Our Legacy matches, the Bears are undefeated with a 2-0-1 record. It is also no coincidence that the wins have corresponded with two of the top three all-time attendance figures in MSU men’s soccer history. The past two Living Our Legacy games have averaged 1,763 fans, while the 2010 event produced the second-largest crowd in program history (2,027) and was just 76 off the all-time record.

The Nov. 2 match with Drake will also serve as senior night for MSU standouts Ben Griffiths and Eric Martin.

2012 Charity Partner – Pastime for Patriots
Pastime for Patriots (PFP) is a certified non-profit foundation that supports our servicemen, servicewomen and their families by providing them with educationally-based financial assistance and family-friendly activities.

PFP was created by former MSU student-athlete and Arizona Diamondbacks’ relief pitcher Brad Ziegler. While at Missouri State, Ziegler set career and single-season records for wins and strikeouts. He also opted to return to college for his senior season and helped lead the Bears to the 2003 NCAA College World Series.
