BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Monmouth University women's soccer team dropped its first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Saturday, as the Hawks fell 3-2 at Canisius at the Demske Sports Complex. The Golden Griffins got on the board in the fourth minute on Sabrina Fitgerald's score, but the Hawks evened the match 1:16 later when Monmouth was awarded a penalty kick, and Freguletti converted for the midfielder's fourth tally of the season.
Monmouth claimed the lead 2-1 in the 28th minute when junior Monique Goncalves (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) found Spracklin for her second of the season, also tying Goncalves for the team-lead with three assists.
Canisius knotted the game at 2-2 in the 38th minute on a Rebecca Lederman goal, while Monmouth had a shot go off the cross bar and another saved off the line in the 44th minute.
