BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Enjoying continued success in the classroom, the Lehigh women's soccer team was recognized on Wednesday with an NSCAA Academic Award for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons. The award is for this past academic year as the Mountain Hawks tallied a cumulative GPA of 3.36 in 2014-15, well above the minimum requirement of 3.0. Lehigh University was one of 208 schools (across all divisions) to see both its men's and women's soccer teams recognized.
In total, 554 women's squads across Division I, II and III received the award.
Lehigh continues to impress in the classroom, led by current senior Paige Elliott, who earned a pair of prestigious academic honors last season - Academic All-District and Academic All-Patriot League. She currently owns a stellar 3.98 cumulative GPA as a Chemical Engineering major. Last year's graduating class averaged better than a 3.50 GPA, including Darby Dustman, who received Academic All-League laurels as a sophomore. Elliott tallied a 3.94 GPA while current sophomore Amanda Stratton finished with a 3.86 GPA and senior Madi Morgan had a 3.82 last fall.
Following a tie vs. Holy Cross, the Mountain Hawks remain home this Saturday for another Patriot League showdown against Colgate. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
