Nahapetian named PL Goalie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following her second-straight shutout, Lehigh women's soccer goalkeeper Ani Nahapetian has been named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced on Monday. The junior made eight saves in a scoreless tie at Bucknell Friday, including several impressive stops to help the Mountain Hawks earn a point on the road. This marks Nahapetian's second-career weekly award and first since late in her freshman season.
Friday marked Nahapetian's sixth-career shutout, second straight and third this season. She came up big with three saves in a 6:23 span in the second half, including a dazzling point-blank stop of a Brigit Falcon shot to help keep the game scoreless in the 62nd minute.
Nahapetian finished with three saves in the first half, four in the second half and one in overtime to keep Bucknell off the scoreboard. The Bison entered having scored 11 goals over their previous five games as Lehigh hasn't allowed a goal over its first two Patriot League games. Nahapetian now owns a stellar 0.24 goals against average and .941 save percentage for the season.
Owning a 1-0-1 league mark and 3-2-2 overall record, the Mountain Hawks will gear up for a showdown at rival Lafayette on Wednesday night in Easton. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
